The Camptown Races is a minstrel song by Stephen Foster published in February 1850. Camptown is in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. and the original name was De Camptown Races with the words in the local vernacular. It is a popular song in the U.S.A. with many variations and has been recorded by many singers over the years since it first appeared.

Here is a very popular Hebrew children’s song, Hinei Rakevet – Here’s the train (הנה רכבת in Hebrew) or Al Galgalim – On Wheels (על גלגלים in Hebrew) sung in Hebrew, the language of the Jewish people. I learned it when reading an email about the Hebrew language word for wheel, which is galgal (Hebrew script: גלגל). Wheels is galgalim (גלגלים) and the word for on is al (עַל). The Hebrew script is read from right to left.
